RMC Announces Exam Prep Guide for
PMI-ACP® Agile Project Management Credential
Agile Methodology Creator Mike Griffiths to Author New Guide, for Release in Q1 of 2012
Minneapolis, MN (August 22, 2011)
RMC Project Management, one of the fastest-growing training companies in the world, has recently announced the upcoming release of its new prep guide for The Project Management Institute's agile project management (PMI-ACP®) credential. The book will be authored by Mike Griffiths, a world-renowned Agile consultant and writer who was instrumental in developing several agile and project management-related methodologies, standards, and exam specifications.
Griffiths is an agile trainer, consultant and project manager, holding multiple project management and Agile-related certifications. In 1994, he helped create the agile method DSDM (Dynamic Systems Development Method), and has been using agile methods including FDD, Scrum and XP for the last 17 years. A frequent presenter at PMI Global Congress, Griffiths teaches Agile Project Management for the Project Management Institute (PMI) as part of their traveling SeminarsWorld program. He also helped start the PMI Agile Community of Practice, which is now the largest PMI community with over 8,000 members. As a writer, Griffiths is also a regularly featured columnist and Agile contributor at Gantthead.com, the world's leading online community for IT project managers.
The decision by Griffiths to publish with RMC was based on several factors. "RMC is my automatic first choice when considering any sort of PMI-related exam preparation, as I believe they are for many project managers," stated Griffiths. "RMC has continued to update and improve their offerings over the years with new formats and tools—and their adaptation, iteration and progressive elaboration shows they're serious about remaining at the forefront of PMI certification support. As an author, this is exactly where I want to be."
Eric Rudolf, Director of Marketing for RMC, believes Griffiths provides the company with a distinct and immediate advantage in the PMI-ACP® training market. "It would have been easy to write this book internally and shove it out the door in an effort to be first," stated Rudolf. "But Mike's wealth of experience with project management, agile, standards development and exam development gives us the opportunity to create the best possible study guide. When you get an opportunity to create something that can be the best, you take it."
Tim Mulcahy, President and CEO of RMC, is pleased to welcome Griffiths to the company's growing list of best-selling authors. "I am so excited to be working with Mike on this," said Mulcahy. "The combination of his expertise in Agile project management and RMC's experience in creating world beating exam preparation materials will be a winning combination. Together we're going to create the best Agile certification prep book on the market, guaranteed to be a customer favorite."
"I hope to create a popular guide to passing the PMI-ACP® exam that builds on the RMC brand of high quality products," noted Griffiths. "Rita's PMP prep book is the gold standard for exam preparation, and with my involvement in the exam design, years of agile experience and training for the PMI, along with the RMC team, I hope to carry on that high standard for the PMI-ACP® exam."
